The Resting Animals came out of a research project by the Swedish design duo Front, who asked people to identify the most meaningful objects in their homes. The answers were overwhelmingly animal figures — pieces perceived to have personalities, histories, and a quiet companionship. Front had previously studied the sleeping and hibernating behaviours of animals; that fascination found its form here in a group of slumbering ceramic figures whose stillness feels genuinely restful rather than merely decorative.

The Resting Cat is available in two sizes and three colours — Beige, Light Blue and White — and sits naturally on a shelf, side table or windowsill.
